I know many people think web marketing is all about technology. But, at its heart, effective web marketing is about good communication and how it builds good relationships – between clients and agencies, between businesses and their customers, between brands and the people who believe in them.
Yesterday evening on the rooftop patio of downtown Cleveland’s Velvet Dog, the Pole Position Marketing team received the Company Spotlight Award for Small Business from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Cleveland chapter. We were recognized by this global organization not for technical expertise (although that’s a big part of what we do), but for the quality of our communication and the value we strive to bring to our customers and our community.
We certainly were in very good company with five other notable award recipients – Progressive Insurance (large business spotlight); Drink Local Drink Tap, Positively Cleveland and St. Malachi Center (non-profit spotlights); and Tony Alexander, president and CEO of Akron-based FirstEnergy Corp., who was named Communicator of the Year.
Stephen Clark, president of Cleveland IABC, said, “Northeast Ohio is home to many notable companies and organizations supporting the local economy and giving back to their communities. It is our pleasure to recognize these standouts in delivering quality communications, creating effective channels to connect with their audiences, and demonstrating commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards. In short, they exemplify communication best practices.”
What a beautiful evening for us all in Cleveland!
