Pole Position Marketing is pleased to announce that it has secured Chinese search engine Baidu as a client.
Baidu has a long and storied history as one of the oldest search engines, established in 1997, even before Google. And while Google, according to one recent investment report, controls 67.5 percent of search volume in the United States, Baidu dominates 80 percent of search use in China. With such a saturation in their native market, Baidu has set its sites on the U.S.
“Everything else in America is ‘Made in China,’ so why not your search results too?” said Baidu President Jun Yuan. “We look forward to the day when instead of ‘googling’ something, people will be “baiduing’ it. We are confident that Pole Position Marketing can get us there.”
Pole Position Marketing will be working to get Baidu to rank for such popular search terms such as “worldwide internet censorship,” “blacklisted Chinese search terms” and “made in China.”
“The world is going the way of the Chinese, and PPM is excited to make the first steps toward Chinese dominance,” said PPM CEO Stoney deGeyter.
Editor’s Note: Most of this press release is completely false in every way, although we do think “baiduing” rolls off the tongue quite nicely. Happy April Fool’s everyone!
