Today we celebrate Thanksgiving. Instead of just giving thanks, maybe we need to just be thankful. What’s the difference? Giving thanks is a one-time event. It’s great to give thanks and to let people know they are appreciative. But being thankful is, well, it’s like giving thanks all the time.
I want to challenge you to do more thank give thanks on this Thanksgiving day, but to truly being thankful. Life is a blessing. If we forget that we start to get bitter about all the things that don’t go our way. It’s kind of like going 2 days without water and then when you get some you complain that it doesn’t have any flavor!
Let’s not be those people. Let’s be thankful for all the blessings we do have, rather than focus on those that we don’t. And not just today, but every day.
Today especially, let’s be thankful (and give thanks) to the Giver of Life, for without life, we would have nothing at all.
