Why Are There No Good Search Marketing Conferences in Reno?

Have you ever noticed that people are often more willing to travel to a conference than attend one in their own area? I think it’s a planning thing. With local stuff it’s easy to beg off in favor of “more important” things. When you travel you have to make a commitment that you don’t want to cancel at the last minute.

So maybe it’s a good thing that Reno doesn’t have any good search engine optimization conferences.
At least for me. Traveling is half the fun. Not the airline flights, mind you. I don’t much care for those. But I do enjoy going to places and just “getting out” of Reno.

So whenever there is an opportunity to get out to a great conference, I try to take it.

I’ve got a couple of upcoming gigs in the next few months, but the one I’m most looking forward to is Small Business Marketing Unleashed. This is a perfect conference for Reno small businesses. Not only do you get some of the top speakers in the SEO industry, but you get two days of jammed packed sessions, covering everything the small business owner need to run a profitable online business.

Unleashed will be held September 22-23 in Columbus, Ohio. Full-price registration is $975 which includes all your meals, but if you register before August 29 then you can get a full pass for only $750.

Ok, you’re probably wondering why I’m promoting this so heavily. Or maybe you’re not. Well, it’s true that I’m on the panel of speakers, but I have to say that the line up of speakers is truly fantastic. I don’t think I’ve gotten so much out of a conference as I did with Unleashed. Every session truly was a must-attend.

And just as an FYI: Attendance is limited to 100, so registering early is a good idea.
